Focus on what you WANT, not what you DON’T want.

Sounds obvious, but I still catch myself doing this all the time. Most often for me it comes when I see a behaviour or reaction that I’m opposed to.
The other day it was someone in the office at my daughter’s school. Their patience muscle was obviously dangerously close to a state of rupture, ‘having words’ with a guilty looking student.
It’s so easy to judge this situation that I have no context to. It’s so much harder to stop and take the steps necessary to follow the opposite end of the compass. To focus on how I want to be treated, heard, understood, and respected (referring to both the teacher and the student).
That’s the best part though, when you bring your awareness to what you don’t like and then let it help you to bring your powerful attention to what you DO want? Magic happens.
